A native of the KinkyNasty (a.k.a Cincinnati), Nygh is six years deep in the realm of instrumental hip hop. He began as an understudy to fellow nasty native, Fat Jon and has graduated to his own school of expertise with his new album, Circling Vultures.
When it comes to instrumentalist influences, Nygh cites Pete Rock, Rjd2 and DJ Shadow as crown inspirations. But, this does not mean he is a carbon copy of the blueprint. Nygh brings a flavor all his own by mastering the software sequencing program, Fruity Loops. He might not embrace the same Excalibur of instrumentalists in his court but, Nygh's use of the digital program does not prevent him from creating the same soulful mixes and rhythmic chops of the traditional beat machines.
In the past Nygh has released a completely self-promoted EP, titled Speechless and even created his own Jay-z remix album, which he titled The Pink Album. He has been featured on several underground emcees albums and is working with others for future release.
The release of Circling Vultures will burn the first ring in a redwood tree. This 14 song LP is a journey through sentiment, isolation and muse. With each song, Nygh crafts movements, building highs and lows, weaving the listener through intricate levels of instrumentation. His music ranges from soundtracking theme music to villain's evil existence on "Images of the Sun" to exposing a deep-seeded love to a significant other on "When I Met You."
It is headphone music for long walks in city veins, the sound of scorned lovers alone in disparagement and hope for a brighter day all gift wrapped for your eardrum enjoyment. With the help of political, humorous and emotional samples Nygh has arranged an album full of inventive sounds to accompany his obscure samples; making Circling Vultures enjoyable no matter the mood.
