Details:
Gerry Noonan. (Baritone).

Gerry began his vocal training with Peter McBrien and for many years studied with Frank O'Brien. While on Career Break from teaching he obtained the Diploma in Music, Teaching and Performing, from the RIAM, where he studied singing with Philip O'Reilly.

He has appeared with many Musical Societies in Dublin and around Ireland. Roles include: Danilo and Cascada, "The Merry Widow"; Gabriel Eisenstein, "Die Fledermaus"; Pierre/The Red Shadow, "The Desert Song"; Bummerlei, "The Chocolate Soldier"; Captain Corcoran, "HMS Pinafore"; The Pirate King, "The Pirates of Penzance"; Florian, "Princess Ida"; Pish-Tush, "The Mikado"; The Counsel, "Trial by Jury"; Emile de Becque, "South Pacific"; Curly, "Oklahoma"; Frank Butler, "Annie Get Your Gun"; Cliff, "Cabaret"; Sky Masterson, "Guys and Dolls"; Albert Peterson, "Bye Bye, Birdie"; Sid Sorokin, "The Pajama Game"; Jack Connors, "Charlie Girl"; Joe/Josephine, "Sugar".

With Lyric Opera at the NCH he has sung Alcindoro, "La Bohème"; The Registrar, "Madàma Butterfly"; The Marchèse, "La Traviata". He performed the part of Il Commendatore for Opera in the Open, in "Don Giovanni". With Anna Livia International Opera Festival he has played Dr. Malatesta, "Don Pasquale" (scenes) and Count Gil "Susanna's Secret".

He sang the Baritone Solo in the Faure Requiem in Cork in February 2005.

In April 2005 Gerry sang the role of Achior in the first staged performance of John Gibson's new chamber opera, "Judith and Holofernes", in St. Finbarre's Cathedral, Cork.

Gerry has appeared regularly with the Association of Irish Musical Societies, at the NCH and with Lyric Opera in Shall We Dance?-a tribute to Oscar Hammerstein, and other concerts.

He sings with The Drawing Room Opera Company and can also be heard on their CD.

His new CD "The Cloths of Heaven" is his first solo Album and is a collection of some of his favourite songs. It gives a good flavour of his repertoire.

He is delighted to have had the experienced pianist and accompanisst, Deborah Kelleher, collaborating with him on this CD. They have worked extensively together in concert and recital work over the years.

On the track, "Panis Angelicus", the vocal obligato is sung by Gerrry's wife, Kathleen Noonan, Soprano.
