Details:
Nick is currently a senior Music Engineering Technology major at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He first started playing piano at the age of 5 and starting playing the guitar in 7th grade. For the next four years he concentrated mainly on jazz bass performance, but in his senior year he became very interested in songwriting and music production. His new-found fascination with multitrack recording forced him to learn the drums so that he could record entire rhythm sections without having to rely on anyone else's schedule. In high school he was a singer/songwriter for a band that achieved a lot of local success and recorded an album. He also became addicted to Steely Dan. It was those two major forces that let him to become interested in engineering. Nick spent a year at Cornell University before transferring to Miami. There he took a songwriting course that helped immensely in defining his style. Structural engineering was not the path for him, so he transferred to Miami to study music. It was here that Nick gained a lot of classical influence in his songwriting, thanks to music theory and appreciation classes as well as a lot of influence by Rufus Wainwright.

In his second year at Miami, Nick chanced to meet drummer Luke Moellman and bassist Paul Bender. Adding them to his keyboardist and former roommate Michael Silver, he started performing his solo songs live with a full band and continued to record in the studio. The talents of these new members was a welcome addition for Nick. And, since he didn't have to play all of the instruments, he was able to concentrate a lot more on engineering and production.

Right now, Nick has just finished his first solo album, Lullabies for Strangers, and is working on producing a couple of other artists including Bridget Pross and Raffa Jo Harris. He is also a member of van gloria, a band featuring Luke Moellman, Paul Bender, and guitarist/friend Matt Gajewski.
