Nita Sell has been singing professionally and writing songs for more than 30 years. Although she is equally at home singing and writing jazz, soul, pop and rock, she is best known as a musician's singer in the tradition of vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald and Shirley Horn. A former resident of NYC and current resident of Los Angeles, Nita has performed extensively in night clubs, recording studios, concert halls and hotels throughout the country. Her compositions are musically rich and her lyrics, poetic and unique.

Nita's latest project, the CD entitled "Night Sky," includes 8 original songs and 3 standards that display her talents as a straight-ahead, no gimmicks singer and musical poet. The repertoire consists of a blend of beautiful and bluesy ballads, jazz bossas, a samba, slow swing and very original lyrics. Nita is accompanied by three of LA's finest jazz and classical musicians: Astrid Cowan on piano, Ron Berman on guitar and upright bass, and Chris Wabich on drums.
