Details:
I spent my younger days in East Side Los Angeles on 20th and Central. I hung out on 23rd and Central with a group of friends that stayed in and out of trouble. If I wasn't hanging with family in Compton and Watts then I was playing sports.
It was in my junior year in high school when I started to rap with some friends. It was just a pass time, all in fun. At the time football was what I knew I was good at. I worked hard and graduated in 1998 with a full scholarship to Fresno State. I played the Corner Back for two years. My football career ended when I became Daddy for the second time. Being a present man in my kid's life was priority, so I left Fresno in 2000. I will never know if I made the right decision for myself or for my kids and even though my relationship with my children is not where I want it to be I made a choice out of love for them. While I tried hard to find my place in life, I never forgot the first time I was intrigued by music. It was at the age of 12 when I saw my brother in his home made studio putting sounds together. I had never thought I was good enough to be a rapper, besides music was my brother's thing. I started writing to let off some anger and frustration. My brother heard it and said I had talent. Nemasis was born.
Nemasis, is a name that I came up with after finding out that it means revengeful. My sign is Scorpio and it means kind hearted, but can be mean and very revengeful. I thought the name fit me at the time and it does. My sound is like no other. I don't pattern myself after anyone or try to sound like anyone else. When I hear a track I write to it according to how that track makes me feel.
I love to see people feeling me. It's a natural high when I know I just laid a number one track. Now I have a place in life, in the lives of my children, in music and in the lives of future fans.
