The long awaited CD release for Daytonâs own New Harvest is hitting hard. The year of 2004 has been a busy time for New Harvest and the group is gearing up to be more visible with the upcoming release. New Harvest national debut on the famed âShowtime At the Apolloâ has placed this group on the map with great accolades coming from afar. Joyce Lawrence from the windy city of Chicago writes âI recently caught the group New Harvest on "Showtime at the Apollo" and just wanted to say how AMAZING I thought their performance was.â âIt's not easy to get on that legendary stage and perform the way New harvest did, so please let them know they made a lot of new fans with that fantastic performance--and what a great song! It's one thing to be able to sing, but to come on and rock a new joint and one that's so catchy and positive? Well, yeah, I'm very impressed.â

Their new CD is entitled âThe Visionâ. It captures the hit that placed them on the map; I Know that He Can. They wanted to record a song that their fan-base can identify with. It also gives them a chance to acknowledge two great women that took an interest in the talent of the group and songwriting of Terence O. Hayes, Sr. Ms Vanessa Brown, talent coordinator for Showtime at the Apollo and Ms Rodena Preston-Williams, Performing & Recording coordinator for the Gospel Music Workshop of Americaâs Mass Choir and New Music. Vanessa enjoyed the talent of New Harvest and invited them to sing in New York during the Apolloâs on the road search for new talent. They made a back-to-back performance in such a legendary place. âWe will never forget the experience we had on that fantastic stage at the Apollo!â stated members from New Harvest. The staff and everyone was just wonderful.

Ms. Preston selected the track I Know that He Can because it had a youthful vibe and Terence was invited to Tampa Florida in 2003 and taught his song to the GMWA Youth Choir! It was a great opportunity teaching an original composition to new and talented voices. The CD contains a contemporary feel of the classic âHis Eye is On the Sparrowâ which caught the I Hear Music in The Air Conference crowds attention. One of Daytonâs own fine musicianâs and drummer; John Taylor co-produced this track adding more spice to the composition. This track will also feature the Hayes Sisters. (Sharita Hayes-Brown, Alisha Hayes, & LaTosha Hayes). Terence is proud to display the talent of his daughters. As a matter of fact Terenceâs eldest son (Terence, Jr.) composed the music tracks for the project. Terence, Jr. is 22 years of age and is a force to be reckoned with along with his cousin James Byrd III. Get ready for a FaithWorks production on Vital Records this fall from the man behind the music scene of New Harvest.

Other songs will include, Higher Ground, A Brighter Day (remix) Whole Heart, a splendid ballad with the voice of Norman McDuffie taking front and center leads on I Gotta Keep Pressing On. The compact disc has a 2:00 minute praise and worship cutâ¦it will take you to church! Lastly, the projects cover title has a tune entitled âThe Vision.â It has a full-extended version along with a radio cut. This song has a little âStingâ vibe with some awesome guitar work laid down by Byron Crews. Bryonâs guitar licks are flavored throughout the project.

New Harvest was blessed to meet a fine producer and engineer for the project; John Hughes of Hughes Digital (www.hughesdigi.com) located in Bellbrook OH. John took this project under his wings and gave it the personal attention any good producer would warrant a project that would have their name placed on it. New Harvest worked like brothers with John and Terence trusted all decisions and feedback the producer gave him to get the job done. A special thanks to Linda Hughes, Mitch and Haley Hughes, for sharing your husband and dad with us to produce some good music!!
