Bimach was originally conceived by Mitchell Bederman as an exercise regimen. It was a group of postures along the lines of yoga, which would help to combat awkward situations and deal with health issues like a cramped foot or a headache. Initially it was meant as a comedic social commentary that would make its way into the public forum by a way of a picture book or possibly a DVD. However, when Mitchell began writing songs in the summer of 2003, it seemed like a proper evolution of the Bimach philosophy to adapt it into a band by the same name. As a result, Bimach is the musical expression that it is today.
Born and raised in North Toronto in 1983 and currently residing in Vancouver, Mitchell recorded his first independent EP in October 2005 with his co-manager and producer, Kory Burk, at Ogre Studios. From that point on he has attracted a large following of musicians, friends and fans in B.C. and the Northwest U. S. and now leads a full five-piece electric rock band. In 2006, Mitchell and Kory began recording Bimachâs debut album, Absentee Husband, and are prepared to release it in the new year of 2007. The titleâs relevance is chosen as a personal, political, and social reference to the experiences of a confused and embittered narrator who is drawn into a world that he does not belong, and who desperately searches for meaning even at the risk of giving up everything that he believes true.
