Rocket 7's founder, Jonathan Cross - a writer, filmmaker, actor, and drummer, played in cover bands in his younger years. He left the nightclub cicuit and cover bands to start writing original music. He had formed a band called, "Hereafter" which started rehearsing his music and soon lost it's 2 guitarists who didn't feel they wanted to pursue the original circuit. Two weeks later, he was asked by an A&R person at Geffin Records, where the band can be seen playing live, after they heard a three song demo of his music. Jonathan told them he would contact them after he found two new guitarists and got the band polished.

As Jonathan is best known for his semi-autobiographical novel, "Cry of the Drummer", presently in publication ...it was in the early nineties when he was making preparations to self-publish the book - and he put the music on hold... for two years. Soon, he had the novel published and then went into the studio and recorded "Love is the Key" and "Addicted" (to giving you my love). He was not able to finish the full ten songs due to financial restraints, and the two recorded songs went on the shelf for ten years. Admitting that he has missed playing drums and recording "and all the excitment that goes with playing in a band", Jonathan will soon go back in the studio with new band members to record the remaining songs for the CD.
