How about an electrifying, fist pumping song to wash away all this negativity? This is a buzzing, symphonic pop anthem for a forgotten generation of dreamers. We may be down, but we're never out.

When the clinching hook sets in, âWe are not kids of a dying age / We've just got no cash,â it is evident that this is one of those special songs that will speak for a generation. Sun Darling's first single is a buzzing, symphonic pop anthem for a generation of dreamers. If the goal is perfect pop anthem with a clinching hook, then this song achieves in so many ways. "Sonic experimentation" and "perfect pop melody" are rarely used in the same sentence, yet this talented multi-instrumentalist has done what so many others have aspired to do--produced a song that is infectious and relevant as well as inventive and compelling. The arrangement is progressive; an arena full of sounds blip and buzz in perfect time to a wall-shaking beat. The melodyâwith it's huge hookâhits all the buttons that get it stuck in the common man's head. Yet âWe Aren't Kids of a Dying Ageâ employs left-field experimentation that makes the song fascinating, inventive ear-candy. Exotic, ethnic rhythms dance around the twang of a sitar which, ironically, works in perfect harmony with samplers, drum machines, and a symphony of pop instrumentation. With finely-orchestrated elements of sound collage and noise pop, Sun Darling retains the experimentation that has been an established component of bands like Radiohead, Depeche Mode, or Animal Collective. Yet an ear for sublime harmonies and compelling arrangements pushes this song into the territory of vocal-driven bands like The Beach Boys. This debut single reveals not only masterful music composition, but also poetic lyricism that examines the social conditions of a discounted generation--âWe shake like an Etch-a-Sketch / Trying to forget what the TV says / Our heads are thick with means / Our fists thick with ends / Yet we have this tendency to lose our dreams somewhere in-between.â Sun Darling has hit a chord with his first single that should turn heads. Eccentric, electric, energetic, invigoratingâthis is a new generation of pop genius.
