Details:
Glenn Moses is a career recording engineer from Merrick, New York, in the middle of busy, in the middle of Long Island's densely-populated Nassau County's south shore. He discovered a knack for songwriting many years ago, but never went professional, choosing instead to record other artists. Glenn is a well-respected recording engineer around these parts. Attempting to come up with something new, Glenn produces most of his material on his Macintosh Laptop, often, pushing the machine to its limits. His music harkens blatantly to his influences, including The Beatles and The Cars and Genesis, but it all seems to add up to a signature sound that belongs uniquely to Glenn. The artist calls what he does "Ultracheese". He likes to take a simple song, and, in the words of the immortal engineer/producer George Marshall, "Apply the Cheese." Just say "Cheese!"
If there were a liner, these would be the notes for Love, Hate and Weed:
1) (Across The Water) To My Baby (4:34)
2) 3a.m. (Smoking Weed) (3:00)
3) Something Happens (2:20)
4) Squirk (an instrumental, For Kim) (2:34)
All words and music by Glenn Moses (BMI)
Produced, Recorded, Mixed, and Mastered by Glenn Moses, in his kitchen in Merrick, New York, and in his living room in Coram, New York, between 2004 and 2007... ...or there about...
Glenn says:
This EP represents a really long writing process for me. I'm very excited, because this is the first release of my original music. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Everything that you hear was recorded into or synthesized in Digital Performer 5.12, by Mark of the Unicorn.
Made on an Apple iBook G3/400, a hackintosh, and a MacBook.
Thanks to my Mom and Dad, Malcolm and Susan Moses, for feeding me, clothing me, housing me, raising me, and putting up with me; To my brother, Andrew Moses, for Technical Support; To Jason Axinn, for arrangement advice, and for turning me onto the song many years ago; to Kim Phillips, for being awesome; The Ossandon family, for loving me, too; to Andrew Bertrand and Kevin Griffin, Rob Tebaldi, George Marshall and Sven Balc, for loving and support, always; to Five Towns College and Luke DeLalio, for honing my skills; to MOTU, for giving me the tools to rock; to CD Baby; to John Lennon, for the song that ate my brain; and, of course, to the inestimable Thom Yorke...
