Details:
As one of the popular tracks that Lion Art plays on stage, we thought it would be a nice riddim to record. We linked with Brian Nordoff and Rob Cimarotti from G Corp at the Elephant House, laid down the drums and bass, and built up the rest of the instruments back at the Friendly Fire Studio.

Lion Art was obviously the first to voice it, after which we sent the riddim to a few vocalists. The response was very positive, and tracks started flowing in our direction.

First up was Redemption Come with Bongo Chilli and Peter Spence, who finally met for the first time in the studio despite their ambition to work together for a long time - the tune was written and recorded that day.

Murray Man and Friendly Fire have worked closely for a long time, and it's after a discussion around a coffee about the problems with gang violence in our immediate area that Murray Man said.. It's dread and can only get dreada...

First Time was recorded in Leicester by Jah Marnyah , who had only been involved in recording dubplates at the Friendly Fire Studio, but I was immediately impressed by his talent, both as a singer and a DJ.

Juggla has been a friend of the crew from the very begining and opened a lot of doors to us when we first came about, as he was already very active with his Overproof Soundsystem (and the killer "watch what you put inna") and has also perfomed with Noiseshaper amongst others. His style is very conscious and positive, which gels with Friendly Fire's ideology.

Then came Collie Weed, who started coming to the weekly Jam Jah sessions (the soundsystem facet of the Friendly Fire Operations) with the legendary producer Woolligan, and he came a few weeks later and recorded the tune in one take, exprssing his belief in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

City Kulture came as the biggest surprise. A friend of Bongo Chilli from Manchester, I'd only met him once before he sent me this cut. Although it was too late to get it onto vinyl, this is a beautiful version.

Lionfire have been involved in the Jungle scene for years, and good friends of ours, so we were honoured to get the whole series remixed in Jungle - Murray Man's cut was the one chosen for this edition, but stay tuned for the Lionfire Madness remixes coming January 2011.

Finally , but not least, KJAH blessed us with his version of Badness - an up to the time dubwise drum and bass version which totally blew us away, so it had to be included, and will soon be available on vinyl.
