The Fair Weathered is a pop/rock band out of Columbus, Ohio featuring former members of False Alarm and Frame by Frame. Tom McQuade (vocals / guitar), Evan Brack (guitar / bass), and David Smith (drums) have spent years in the local music scene. Though only Tom and David are legal adults, they have already shared the stage with bands such as The Gaslight Anthem, Polar Bear Club, House of Heroes, American Steel, The Story Changes, Seabird, Much The Same, Shirock, Driver Side Impact and A Wilhelm Scream.
In the early months of Summer 2010 they released their debut single âHeavy Statesâ with a b-side âPlanetsâ for free on their website www.TheFairWeathered.com. Since, they have received positive reviews with the Ohio State student paper Uweekly stating âThe fit, finish and overall tightness of the songs are impeccable and rare among bands this young...If these sessions are any clue as to what's coming next from the Weathered, they're certainly a band to keep your eye on.â Unsigned Find Music declared âRain or sun, sleet, snow, or hail, The Fair Weathered is one of those bands for all seasons."
In addition to mentions and positive reviews by various blogs, AMP Magazine, and ThePunkSite.com, they have been played on Volta Radio based out of Philadelphia, as well as various college radio stations around Ohio. The self promoted single and b-side, as of writing, have had nearly 1000 downloads. They released their debut full length "Last Year" in February 2011. Absolutepunk.net say this of the album: âThis trio from Columbus, Ohio definitely knows what theyâre doing when writing a pop punk-rock album for the masses. They get the sound just right in this album providing a satisfying releaseâ¦getting back to the basics of rock music, having funâ¦Definitely a good album, and I canât wait for its release.â
