Ann Sweeten - Biography
Internationally renowned Pianist/Composer
Genre: Contemporary Instrumentalist

Contemporary Classical Pianist/Composer, Ann Sweeten has crafted a signature sound over the course of 6 albums. Often placed in the New Age genre, her style is decidedly unique. Sweeten's music has aired and been reviewed across the world to wide critical acclaim. Her latest CD, "Sapphire Days" recently hit #3 on the New Age Reporter airplay chart making it one of the most played albums of modern instrumental music in North America; her music also airs in eleven different countries. "Reflections" also charted #3 in Radio in 2002 and remained on the charts for 10 months running with an earlier album, "Passage" joining it. This is Sweeten's debut CD where it all began! Sweeten blends heady technique with heartfelt passion and colors her melodies with synthesized orchestration resulting in a profoundly moving listening experience. On this album, nature sounds are delicately woven through the melodies. Ann Sweeten is quickly becoming one of the most popular new pianists around.

Ann Sweeten is a Voting Member of The Recording Academy, an Ascap Popular Awards Recipient for 2002, 2003 & 2004 and was Sixth Place Finalist for Best New Age/World Song (Orange Band, "Passage") in the JPF Music Awards 2004 . JPF received 140,000 song submissions and 10,000 albums from 45 states and 40 countries this year. Sapphire Days was nominated for Best Neo-Classical Album and Best Cover Art at the NAR Lifestyle Music Awards 2004.

A truly well-rounded individual and artist, Ann Sweeten is a staunch environmentalist, vegetarian and animal activist. In addition to being a composer and pianist, she is also a professional actress/singer with Actor's Equity, a trained ballet dancer and former female front to the rock band FALLOUT. She earned a degree in foreign languages from Smith College, studied in Paris and later at the Boston Conservatory.
