617, Londons most innovative hip-hop crew, release their much highly anticipated debut album, The Vault.
The crew, namely, Accura, Blu-G, a.k.a. Balistik and D.R.A., first launched into the UK hip-hop scene with their debut single, Always, which featured the widely acclaimed vocal intro of none other than the Prime Minister, Tony Blair !! Accura recalls, When we first told people we were going to request the services of Prime Minister Tony Blair to introduce our debut hip-hop anthem single, they told us we were crazy! But we proved the doubters all wrong! Not only did we get the Prime Minister to introduce our debut track, Always, we also featured his own guitar riff on the extended mix version! Hence, 617, exploded into the music scene causing a huge stir and a blaze of publicity! Can you believe it? None other than The Guardian newspaper contacted the Prime Ministers press agent, for verification of the Prime Ministers vocals! (and this is the Real Prime Minister.
617 decided to independently release their debut single, Always, featuring Tony Blair, which, sold in huge quantities and created a great buzz on the streets.
Encouraged by their success, 617, released a follow-up single, Real, featuring the vocal talents of Ann Robinson, The Weakest Link presenter and Pop Idols panellist, Pete Waterman. Having achieved great success in Germany, France, Japan and the UK with both singles, the group returned to the studio and created their third single, Nod Your Head, a party, rap track, with a strong, catchy hook line. The bouncy beat just wants you to get your groove on and Nod Your Head!!
With three great successes under their belt, 617 releases their debut album, The Vault. Having established a core following of hip-hop lovers, who love melodic sounding tracks, The Vault, shows 617s heavy production talents with Londons Finest and Toy Gangsta.
