Urban Jones (Tavian Ahmed Jones) was born in Inglewood, California in 1987, and moved with his family to Memphis, Tennessee in 1993. With musical roots coming from his father, Jerry Jones (of the groups Brothers Unlimited/Capitol Records, Homegrown Funk/Arista Records, and a single release through Polygram Records), other musical talents in the family include his grandmother, an aunt, and several cousins, it is only natural for him to carry on the torch.

Urban has been writing and producing his own music since the age of 12. He began recording songs with the underground rap group 2 Real 2 Die Posse. Discovering his personal talents, he eventually ventured off on his own.

As an artist, heâs performed alongside 2 Real 2 Die Posse and has done a few local showcases in Tennessee and Arkansas. As a member of the rap group Tre Points (whose other members include Beast The Skitzo, S.C. Lunatic, Da Boy AG, and Renegade), they have released two mix tapes entitled âWhat The Gameâs Been Missinâ and âRecipe 4 Greatnessâ. Both releases have generated thousands of online plays and downloads.

Urban Jones has an extremely large internet fan base and has accumulated song plays well into the millions. His first individual mix tape âReadyâ was released in February of 2011. He is capable of accommodating a sound that all music lovers can enjoy - which is the definition of a true artist. His prolific song-writing skills might even surpass his musical skills!
