Details:
Danielle Martin aka: Tru3 Riot or Real Rebel Riot was born on April 5th to Sandra Mott and Patrick Martin at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx NY at 1:13 am. Danielle never felt that she came from a poor background because that's definitely not the case, however Danielle did come from an unstable background. From birth, Danielleâs mother always had sole custody of her and she rarely saw her father while growing up as her parents separated when she was barely five years old. Danielle and her mother were always relocating for one reason or another. It always seemed like her mother was either running from something or running in hopes that someone would chase after her. Either way Danielle had to go where ever her mother went. Danielle never felt she had roots and could not point to a particular place that she felt was the place she was raised because her constant travels had her in and out of all of the five boroughs of New York City.
At nine years old, Danielle had the first poem she wrote, published in the Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans. It was a homework assignment from her fourth grade teacher Ms. Rossberg who thought it had potential and she was right.
Danielleâs future looked promising, however at Thirteen years old she encountered her first traumatic experience in the form of sexual abuse. This led to a downward spiral of deterioration of her relationship and bond with her mother. Her only escape from all of the pain was writing poetry. One day a friend suggested she put her poetry to music. She did and it was a huge success. From that point on, she began to learn the nuances of music, what a bar is, a sixteen, verses, hooks and bridges; everything pertaining to the creation of music. Music became her shelter and the pot of goal at the end of the rainbow.
While in High School Danielle experienced additional sexual abuse. This led to fights in school, social displacement, home issues, running the streets and all the negative things that go along with being young, angry, confused and abused. Things began to look bleak for Danielle until one day while living in the Bronx with a friend, Danielle went to Magenta Park and started rapping with some guys she saw sitting on a bench nearby. To this day she doesnât know why she felt compelled to join their Cypher but she did and she is eternally glad she did because it lead to her meeting and forming a bond with someone who saw her true potential and encouraged her to pursue it.
He was the owner of an Artist Management company and told her that if she didn't invest in herself, then no one else would. Those were strong words, and at 17 she felt she had nothing to invest. She was living in Tilden Group Home in the Bronx, got pregnant with her son and had to move to Our Lady of Mercyâs Maternity Shelter. Things were not looking up; in fact they were getting worse. However there was always music. She met other aspiring artist from the neighborhood and went to little at home studios and recorded tracks. Danielle knew how to play piano so whenever she could she would make beats and instead of always rhyming she explored and attempted to develop other music talents. Danielle looked up to Ne-Yo and considers him a musical genius. His drive reminds her of her own and so she continues to push on musically.
Now a single mother living on her own, her life has come full circle but she still retreats to her first love when things get tough, Music! Music is the love of her life, its melody soothes her heart, its harmony soothes the soul and its lyrics ease the pain. Without music Danielle has no idea where should would be and suspects she would be just another negative statistic. However, music and ultimately God has given her the greatest gift of all the ability to write lyrics and create music and for that she is forever committed to him. Now signed with HyDra Management Services, Danielle has her first opportunity to work with experienced professionals in the entertainment industry and intends to make the most of her opportunity so that she can one day see her CDâs in the stores and her name up in lights.
