For the past twenty five years, Lil Stanley has been active on both the national and international blues scene, as he has cultivated and crafted his own stylized brand of the music. Starting out in Houstonâs 5th ward area, Lil Stanley perfected his craft by playing at such legendary clubs as the Ebony, Shadyâs, and Club Matinee. As his bass playing and vocal skills progressed, Lil Stanley graduated to gigs in larger and more prominent venues, backing up such legends as T Bone Walker and Geeta âTangle Eyeâ Davis. Hitting the road, Lil Stanley made his way through East Texas, Tulsa Oklahoma, and that renowned musical hotbedâ¦Austin, Texas. Austinâs Charlieâs Club and The Havana Club were among his ports of call. In the seventies, Lil Stanley committed to Vinyl Master Records where he recorded and released â Let it Rollâ and âUgly to The Boneâ. Becoming regional hits these recordings assured Lil Stanley of his standing in the blues community. Lil Stanley has supported the works of such blues and R&B greats as Albert Collins and Joe âGuitarâ Hughes, while infusing their musical influences in his own style.. The 90âs found Lil Stanley on the international scene, playing in Amsterdam at the Vredcnburg Utrccht Blues Estate 90. Along with associates Teddy âCry Cryâ Reynolds, Joe âGuitarâ Hughes, and Guitar Slim. Lil Stanley was an able rep for these Gulf Coast Blues icons. Now bases in the Houston area Lil Stanley is performing with the Executives Blues Band.
