My name is Brenna MacQuarrie and I am 22 years old. I was born and rasied in Edmonton, Alberta, and I now attend Humber College in Toronto, ON, where I am completing my degree in contemporary and jazz music.

Iâve been singing since I was very young, and began taking private lessons when I was 8. I started in musical theatre, and branched out to country, pop, folk, and eventually took four years of classical training, and completed my grade 8 RCM in voice. Most recently, I have been singing a lot of R&B, funk, and blues, three of my favorite genres.

I am a regular performer on both the Edmonton and the Toronto music scenes.

I now write and arrange my own compositions on the piano. My tunes are jazz-influenced, but driven by a strong beat and a âsoulfulnessâ that makes them unique.

Over the last two years, I have really started to grow into my own style of composition. I have written a lot of new material, and am beginning to arrange it for a trio, and for string and horn sections. I write not only about personal experiences, but also to express my opinions on global issues
