Details:
Rachid Halihal presents the true character and spirit of music from the Fertile Crescent, the classical Egyptian repertoire and the diverse regions of Morocco and the Persian Gulf.

At 14, already a prodigy, he entered the Dar Aadyil Conservatory of Music in Fez, Morocco. After formal training Rachid performed in Fez and Casablanca until he began to bring his music to a wider audience traveling to Ivory Coast, Sweden, Finland and the Persian Gulf. Returning to Morocco he managed a nightclub and performed each night for seven years.

Rachid has played with many well-known Arabic singers including the famous Mohammed Abdo. He recently toured the USA and Canada with Rachid Taha and previously with the Chicago Classical Oriental Ensemble

He has performed at the Helsinki International Music Festival, Denver's Global Groove
Festival, Boulder Theater, the Crossroads Festival in Chicago and at Columbia University.

Rachid arrived in the USA in 2001, performed and taught in New York City for several years and since then has been living in Denver and performing throughout the country.
His music is soulful, poetic and very danceable. Not an empty spot can be found on the dance floor wherever he plays.
