This is the third RAHMAT SHABAZZ release by East coast Jazz flute/saxophonist Charles 'Rahmat' Woods, and brings forth yet another facet of this talented artist's musical spectrum. His avant garde associations include working as a founding member of the 70's New York Jazz cult band TARIKA BLUE, participating and recording with free Jazz trumpeter DON CHERRY's DC big band project, holding a chair in progressive saxophonist ODEAN POPE'S saxophone choir, and performing a number of mystical flute/drum duos with the legendary ROY HAYNES.
DC LOVE ORCHESTRA presents a ensemble that evokes energetic images of musical unity and humanities quest for peace. In addition to Washington, DC/Maryland based Charles 'Rahmat' on reeds, this edition includes former Sun Ra Arkestra member Bobby Thomas on pocket trumpet, Baltimore's Vattell Cherry on acoustic bass, and eighteen year old Terance Arnett of Washington, DC, on drums.
