People ask me "so what does this really have to do w/Jefferson" and I tell them that it's not the town but the people. The freaks, jocks, hippies, rednecks, christians, and meth'd-out deathtrippers that you can find in any town, just that Jefferson's so small that they stand out in stark relief.

I'd love to be more like Pasternak and paint the big canvas of the Russian Revolution, but face it, we live in a small world where things don't really change that much over the years and the same people we knew when we were young are reborn on the same streets to make the same mistakes in the same way in the same small town. It's Egypt on the North Santiam, timeless, unchanging.

Everything you hear is either 6 or 12-string guitar, heavily treated. I wrote all the songs while sitting on our big red velvet couch in the living room, lights down low, much as I've always down on red velvet couches in Boulder, San Francico, Madrid, wherever. Light a candle.
