My name is Ruhtie R Gates; I am a native of Beloit, Wisconsin. Born and raised in the church all my life I began singing at the age of 7 and progressed in my singing ventures up until now. I also sing in a spiritual group with my mother, father and sisters we've been singing for 18 years. We recorded two alblums together all in which I was the main composer of the group. I've had the opportunity of opening up concerts and or sharing the stage with artists such as Lee Williams and the Highway QC's, George Dean and the Gospel 4, Jimmy "big jim" Wright, Persy Gray and Joshua's Troop, Keith "wonderboy" Johnson and have upcoming events to open for Harvey Watkins and the Canton Spirituals. I am an advocate for women and children whom have fallen victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. I've had the opportunity of rendering music selections for the annual event called "Take Back the Night" in recognition of those whom have fallen victim of such acts. The Lord inspired me to go further and take lyrics he had given me and complete my own project which I hope you enjoy and find inspirational as well as moving.
