Cow-Punk, Country Punk, and Rock n Roll
16 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Country Rock, ROCK: Punk
Details:
The Rubberneckers are a âCow-Punkâ band hailing from Humboldt County in Californiaâs wild north. We were formed in the summer of 2002, and weâve been honing our chops on stages in local dive bars ever since. We blend country rhythms with up-beat tempos to create our own foot stomping brand of rock-n-roll. The lyrics tell stories everyone is familiar with: heartbreak, lonliness, drug abuse, and late nights of beer and whiskey fueled mayhem.
The Farmhouse is our live-in practice space and recording studio as well as the name weâve used to stamp our brand on the CDâs weâve released. Itâs a turn of the century house on an old dairy farm in rural Blue Lake, CA. The Farmhouse has welcomed and housed touring bands from all over the country, and continues to be the epicenter of our work.
She Burnt Beer Creek, released in August of 2003, was our first attempt at utilizing our independent recording studio. Only one hundred copies were released locally.
This is the Whiskey Rebellion, released in October of 2004, is our first full-length CD. It was recorded, engineered, and produced at The Farmhouse studio. Half of The Whiskey Rebellion is electric and the other half acoustic in order to showcase the fact that we can play it all either way.
Live From The Farmhouse on the KHUM Back Porch Show, released in May of 2006, was recorded and broadcast entirely live on KHUM 104.3. Itâs our second full-length release. All of the songs are acoustic versions of our normally loud and fast cow-punk tunes.
Since its release in October of 2004 This is the Whiskey Rebellion has been picked up and played by local stations KHUM, KHSU, and the tracks âDrunk By Fourâ, âIâll Buyâ, and âRadio Stationsâ have done stinks in heavy rotation on KSLG 94.1. Live From The Farmhouse has already spent a great deal of its short life in heavy rotation on KHUM.
The Rubberneckers are an ensemble cast, and we all share credit for not only songwriting, but recording and engineering as well. We are:
Clay Smith: Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar
Greg Lojko: Lead Guitar & Vocals
B.T. Hollister: Bass Guitar
Brendan Otto: Drums & Vocals
In addition to headlining Blue Lakeâs âFolk-Life Festivalâ in 2004 and 2005 weâve headlined Arcataâs âOyster Festâ and played Eurekaâs âBrews By The Bayâ. This year, in addition to touring, weâll be headlining âHops In Humboldtâ in Ferndale, CA.
In order to cut down on cost and waste we do most of our business online. We can be found on Myspace as well as our own website. Both are listed below. Photos, music, downloadable t-shirt designs, and tour dates can all be found there. We will mail out promotional material if needed. Just drop us a line to let us know where to send it.
While we love our home and our roots, we know itâs time to take this show on the road. Youâll be able to find us anywhere the drinks are flowing, and thereâs any chance to hear foot stomping rock-n-roll.
