BIO- Ripcord is a Power Groove Metal Band from Mt. Vernon, Ohio (near Columbus, Ohio). Ripcord was formed in December of 2002, with J.R. Goeppinger (Vocals), Matthew Ellis (Guitars), Dave Stout (Bass and Vocals) and Andy Ellis (Drums). Andy and Matt are brothers and have been jamming together with Dave Stout for at least ten years together. J.R. Goeppinger came in with vocals, and was the final piece to the puzzle. Ripcord is a very tight band with great chemistry.
GIGS- Ripcord loves to play live! Their energy on stage shows how much passion they have for their music. They have played at various venues around the Central Ohio Area. The Alrosa Villa, Billiard Club, Ruby Tuesdays, Whiskey Peteâs, Dutchsâ, Mt. Vernon Lanes, and Vile Fest, to name a few.
10,000 CCEâs- The 6 song CD is a very Professional Recording and Mastering Project engineered by Joe Viers at John Schwab Studios in Columbus, Ohio. 10,000 CCEâs is the follow up CD to their 2nd CD entitled Not Right.
The title 10,000 CCEâs was influenced by Clifford Carroll Ellis who died unexpected in August of 2005. Cliff was a drummer and a brother to Matt and Andy, Cliff was the sole reason they even started playing music.
INFLUENCES- Ripcord is influenced by many bands, (Slipknot, Pantera, Slayer, COC, Korn, Karma To Burn, Godsmack, Machine Head, Earth Crisis, Metalica, and of course Black Sabbath).
