Scandinavian artist Rikke Lundorff has hit a nerve in the music business well beyond the shores of Denmark. The well-known pianist Michael OâNeill (who has played with: Mary Coughlan, Enya etc.) declares, after hearing only one of Rikkes songs, that once she lands on the Island of Ireland he wants to accompany here. Keith Donald (Van Morrison/ Sting) referred to her vocal as honey to the ear witch leaves me with no doubt that sheâs not only original, but will fit into all categories in the music sphere.
Rikke herself has been writing songs for seven years even though sheâs only 24 years old. âThere is another way around itâ and âno, no, noâ are new songs, while the other ones were written during her time at the Carl Nielsen Academy Of Music in Denmark. Once youâve heard Rikke and her band, you are drawn in and captivated by the intensity and intimacy of both her and her wonderful musicians. A real Joy.
