Rebels & Scientists are storytellers, dreamcatchers, tapestry weavers. Their debut album is equally epic and intimate, a sleeping giant that rises and yawns and rages and thunders and dreams again. Guitars are darkest waves at the rocks, dip like calling birds, rise like whalesong, cellos and bass are weighted clouds, fistfuls of earth, a panther slung over a low limb, drums are a cavalryâs footfall, rain in torrents, and a voice that pours through it all like a rich, hot brew from a copper kettle, a red sun tossed to a black sea.
