Hailing from the Steel City, Blindsider is a band of firsts. After years of playing in the garage band circuit, in the summer of 2005, rhythm guitarist Dave Pinchot decided to finally start his first working, recording and rocking band. After a few months of searching, the perfect bandmates were found. The band is headed by bass player Kathryn Heidemann, formerly of Chicago's Rockit Girl and Pittsburgh's own Chalk Outline Party, in her first band as a lead vocalist. Kathryn fills two difficult roles at once, pounding out rock bass riffs and leading the bands vocal melodies, while also being the band's primary lyricist. In his first stint as fulltime lead guitarist, Craig Smith, previously of New England's Four Saints, brings a fresh sound to the guitar and melodic harmonies singing along side Kathryn. The quartet is rounded out by punk, blues, and zombie movie influenced drummer Michele Sanders, who provides a rock solid rhythm to the bands pop/rock indie tunes.
