Most popular music associated with Conservative political views tends to be flag-waving, pseudo-patriotic, and devoid of a sense of deep concern for and understanding of the problems real Conservatism claims to stand against. This is not so with the works of The Vindicated. This is a band that has laid out a course for the Conservative Alternative music genre that follows a similar path to its conservative punk and (libertarian) rationalhardcore cousins, but with a more subtle, artistic, and musical approach.

The Vindicated is a band that speaks the language of the intelligent and engaged TEA Party participant, but would rather carve out an artistic space for living and reflection than preach on his behalf. It is an approach that proudly holds close paleolibertarian and anarcho-capitalist discipline with a desire to enrich listeners' souls. In an age when decades of opinionated musicians both famous and unknown have saturated the marketplace with art containing explicit and implicit leftist protest messages, The Vindicated seek to provide an authentic Conservative Alternative that is devoid of PC Marxist sloganeering and posturing. Their label, PhoenixHeart Records (www.PhoenixHeartRecords.com), has been releasing rougher-edged music in this conservative/libertarian vein for the better part of a decade.

Musically, their influences run the gamut of 80s and 90s indie-rock and alternative styles. Bands such as Fugazi, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, and Jane's Addiction have especially left their mark on The Vindicated.
