The Press Gang - a three man sea shanty and Celtic Folk singing group, recorded their first CD in May of 2007 after appearing together for 2 years. They were named the "new voice of Sea Shanties on the East Coast" by Jim Rockwood at Blackbeard's Festival in 2007. The Gang then recorded their first CD totally acapella featuring Chris Craig on lead, Keith Southall, baritone and Jeff Beatman, bass. During the recording process, the Gang featured 3 part harmony on most of the shanties and had a tough time narrowing down their repertoire to record just 11 songs (which gave us the push to do a second CD in 2009). The CD has been featured by the Lewe's Historical Society, The Beach House in Lewe's Delaware, Norfolk's Harborfest and many other nautical events throughout the east coast. Our CD has been called very tight with excellent harmonies and great enthusiasm!
