Details:
Childhood
Coming from a long line of musicians, Dawn Boudreau grew up with family jam sessions in the living rooms of grandparents on both sides of her family. Her mother (Milly Saville, then Boudreau) established a coffee house in the basement of Knox United Church in the early 1980's, which was the home and launching of many of Prince George's local talents. Sometimes Dawn would be allowed to stay up late enough attend and was excited about her opportunities to get on the little basement stage, accompanied by her mother's guitar.

Youth
Dawn sang all through school, in choirs, quartets, award-winning duets, and solos. She gleaned all the musical knowledge she could from her teachers along the way. Being in a church school, music was a huge part of her education, as she was given many opportunities to sing solos or help with the music leadership in the many chapel sessions that took place.

Motherhood
Even during her early mothering years, Dawn helped the church school students prepare for competitions. In 2000, being a member of the chorus of Brigadoon with Excalibur Theatre Arts Co., a love for showtunes and jazz began to develop within this singer. She continued take part in musical theatre and also began performing jazz in restaurants and cafés around Prince George.

Teaching
In 2002, she began teaching individual singing lessons at B&B Music Studio. For five years, she developed a teaching style and system of training that kept her students coming back for the next opportunity. What challenge will Dawn give her students next?

Recording
In March 2006, Dawn released her first CD, Tinge of Tangerine, a collection of original jazz-pop music with Dawn on piano and vocals, and the addition of many of Prince George's most talented jazz musicians.

Continued Education
One thing that this teacher finds important is to never stop learning, so she continues to develop her skills by taking piano lessons and exams. Although classical singing is not something she teaches, Dawn has studied Grade 7 vocal materials in the classical genre.

Dawn Boudreau Music
In September of 2007, Dawn Boudreau Music commenced at the large studio in her home, which the family fondly refers to as Studio Bohemia. With teenaged children and a great home environment for making music happen, Dawn decided it was time to make the switch to teaching at home.

Updates

On October 4, 2008, Dawn Boudreau's new jazz CD, Love, from the Piano Bar in collaboration with pianist David Sproule is released.

On January 30, 2009, Dawn Boudreau is invited to open for Canadian R&B artist Divine Brown at the Prince George Playhouse.

August 2009, work begins on Dawn Boudreau's Sesame Street EP.
