Details:
BLUEGRASS TIME, the CD, brings together all the elements of Traditional Bluegrass, Progressive Bluegrass, early Elvis Rockabilly and just plain "Groovin' Tunes" with some of the finest Bluegrass Musicians in the world. You'll be grinnin' from ear to ear, tappin' your toes and in general enjoying every minute of it.

âIf It Werenât For Bluegrass Music (Iâd Go Crazy)â â the title says it all and lays claim to the #1 spot on this CD. In BJ BLUEâs classic âBeen there, Done thatâ delivery, the word believability always comes to mind. The singer is in a Country Bar and all he wants is âsome fiddle and a slide guitarâ ⦠Jim Van Cleve and Randy Kohrs provided that in short order. Great tempo, great âevery manâs storyâ line and hands down a grrrrreat Bluegrass Record.

"If I Could Get My Hands On You" is another one of those "can't sit down, oh no you canât sit down", "kick your fanny out the door" kinda tunes that is an all-out finger-poppin' goodtime. Cool jive, Cool Groove and Cool Bluegrass Record.

"Closer To The Truth" Will make you stop and think. True Traditional Country in a Bluegrass setting.

âBluegrass Timeâ, the song, starts with a stop! Youâll see. Cool groove, cool story line, some funky jive for a Bluegrass tune and then it happens ⦠yes, it happens. You think itâs over and then BJ and the BGB kick the dam* thing into BLUEGRASS OVERDRIVE!!!!! Yikes ⦠itâs smokinâ ⦠and then it ends ⦠or does it? No it does not, until the fat lady sings ⦠LOL! Check it out!

"Borrowed Angel" is a Country Classic if there ever was one. Written and recorded originally by Mel Street (the George Jones of his day) this tune is a must have for any collection of Great Country songs and, as they say, a great song doesn't care who sings it or what style it's done in. "Borrowed Angel" is right at home in Bluegrass attire.

"It's All Over Now" was originally done in the 50's by The Valentinos and was clearly one of the most "groovin' records" ever made. Those dudes invented "groove". It was later revived as a Rolling Stones' Classic and is ever so cool as a Bluegrass gem. it is literally amazing how well some of these âpopâ Classics slip into a Bluegrass Groove. Dobro, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, acoustic guitar and upright bass were never finer or funkier ... fun ⦠fun ⦠fun!

"Tennessee Pearl" is the ultimate tribute to the ultimate Comedic Country Diva Minnie Pearl. She was, and remains, one-of-a-kind. There will never be another like her. Born Sarah Ophelia Cannon, she met a backwoods country girl while teaching school and developed the persona of Minnie Pearl. The rest is history. She will forever be a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame ... "well respected by her peers". A figure who was, and is, loved by all.

"Those Ole Fashioned Sundays" tells it like it was. Back in the day, Sundays were more special than they are today. It was a day everyone looked forward to. A day everybody put on their Sunday Best, became a true family and worshipped the Lord, each in his own way. The story-tellin' aspect of this song is reminiscent of the great Tom T. Hall style of songwriting. It will take you back to your childhood and the way it was. Youâll smile and say âYeah!â
.
"Debra Jo" â it's all about a Cajun Queen (half alligator, half cotton-mouth) whose ex ole man (Jimmy) disappears amidst âthe snakes and the gators and the quicksandâ ⦠itâs a tale of Love Gone Wrong ⦠Verrry Wrong. Put together by master story tellers BJ Blue, Gerald Franklin Pierce and Jack Sewell, it will hold you in its spell until the last note fades.

"Mercury Blues" â has been recorded by every Tom, Dick and Harry ⦠but never as a âfeel goodâ Bluegrass Groove. Itâs one of those late-night-get-in-your-car-and-drive-til-the-wheels-come-off kinda tunes. Put both hands on the wheel, light up your favorite smoke, put the pedal to the metal, slip on your cheap sunglasses (even thoâ itâs after midnite) and just float off into space ⦠âitâs Cool, Man!â

"Truck Drivin' Man" is a Truck Driver's Classic. Originally recorded by Red Stegall, and later by Buck Owens, and Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen (say what? Yep, itâs true). This one comes out of the chute on the fly ⦠better be strapped in and ready to Boogie!!!

"Hound Dog" ... say what? Yep, Hound Dog. âThe Pelvisâ would dig it! In BJâs unique and characteristic style of making things that are old, brand new again, this version combines all the Classic versions from the past. Taking snippets from four of the greatest musical stylists EVER ⦠Big Mama Thornton, Elvis Aaron Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard Penniman and melding them into a New Version. It's right at home as a Bluegrass Foot Stompin' Goodtime.

BJ BLUE and the BOOGIE GRASS BAND STRIKES AGAIN! ⦠ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
