Arch takes a detour from his usual "Bing Crosby singing power pop" to bring you this intimate, guitar-and-voice-only album, perfect for late nights and cozy moments.
13 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Folk Pop, POP: Folky Pop
Details:
Arch Rockefeller is a singer-songwriter who specializes in catchy melodies, witty lyrics and energetic rhythms. He has spent years honing his craft and in the past two decades has produced a body of work which includes several CDs.
His music is Pop in the classic sense: short, tuneful energetic songs with driving rhythms and memorable melodies. Elements of hard rock, art-rock, country, jazz and blues are used to season individual songs, but the focus on pop songcraft remains constant.
At the core of every performance is his voice, a smooth light baritone which distinguishes him from the typical tenor-based sound of the genre.
The group he led in the 1990s, the Raging Hormones, placed on the Canadian campus charts and played around the Southern Ontario area. "Bare As You Dare" was the Hormones' most successful disc, including such airplay-receiving tracks as "Big Baby", "Naked to the World", and Arch's tribute to cub, "Lisa (Keep on cubbing)".
With "Houseplants", Arch takes a detour into the world of solo acoustic performance. This cozy intimate album focuses on the gentler, more thoughtful aspects of his music - but the characteristic sense of humor still remains.
*** Please note - Houseplants is a CD-R release. ***
