The African disciples are a Dynamic Reggae Band, which was formed in Kingston Jamaica in 1979 by four energetic and conscious musicians. They include:
Everton Bailey - Bandleader, Rhythm guitarist, vocal and songwriter
Patrick Bedward - lead guitarist, vocal and songwriter
Donald Maitland - Drummer
Laurel Francis - Bass guitarist
Huntley vassel - harmonizer and percussionist(1980)
Their first â45â recording entitled SURVIVING was distributed by BOB MARLEYâS RECORDING STUDIO, TUFF GONG at 56 Hope Road,Kingston,,Jamaica in 1981 on their label.
The same studio subsequently released it as a disco â45â in the eastern Caribbean.
As a result of the modest publicity provided by our first â45â, the African disciples was inspired to produce its first vinyl album entitled âPlace Called Earthâ which was released and distributed by Sonic Sound in 1983,and the dub album in 2000,
.Keyboards was done by MUSA.
Cuts from the tracks feature song such as Jah works,Surviving,High and low places,Africa,Babylon and Place called Earth.Another â45â was soon to be released entitled âFeel This Oneâ followed by âFULL MOONâ in1986.
Their debut compact disc consist of thirteen songs was released in 1999.

As a dynamic and enterprising group has performed at BOHEMIA NIGHT CLUB in the heart of Half -Way âTree on several occasions; and at Courtleigh yard located at Courletigh Manor Hotel in New Kingston.
Their latest compact disc ORGANIZE was released in 2006 with the now IVERTON & AFRICAN DISCIPLES which was mix by DAVID KENNEDYand ROHAN.
Track such as DRIFTING AWAY was released in 2004 is taken from ORGANIZE.
Two of the tracks also feature Heather Cumming and E.Q on harmony.
Iverton however is flexible enough to perform without the band, according to the occasion. The group is committed to satisfy the musical appetite of its audience with cultural inspired lyrics, and is looking forward to do some shows locally and overseas to promote their albums.
