Born and raised in Marin County, California; Amieâs parents owned and operated Earthquake McGoonâs (a Traditional Jazz nightclub and restaurant) and The Magic Cellar in San Francisco which remained open throughout the 60s and 70s. Her most formative years were spent between the club, her home in Marin, and traveling with her family to her fatherâs musical gigs with The Turk Murphy Jazz Band.
