Apart from his role as leader of his critically acclaimed instrumental group, he is also part of acoustic trio Straight On Red and performs as an acoustic solo artist. Richard's music has been heard on a variety of radio & television oulets. He has released 8 critically acclaimed CD's: Junction, Vessel, Live At Blues Alley, Hear & Now, Where Time Stood Still, Out Of Bounds, Savannah Blue & The Whole Nine Yards. Richard has received 34 awards for his songwriting from contests including from the Unisong, Mid-Atlantic Song Contest and Billboard Magazine. He has received honorable mentions in the Music Monthly Magazineâs readerâs polls as Best Mid-Atlantic Songwriter, Male Voice, Group, Acoustic Performer and Bass Guitarist. The Richard Walton Group has received many awards as Best Mid-Atlantic Group, Instrumental & Jazz Group by the readers of Music Monthly magazine. During his career, Richard has worked with a wide variety of artists such as Crack The Sky, Badfinger, Steve Hackett (Genesis), Kevin Ayers (Soft Machine), Savoy Brown, Carl Filipiak & Rick Derringer.
