American Indian Tribes of Idaho is one of the few books written to date that covers all of the sedentary tribes in prehistoric Idaho. In this book, the author describes the lives and culture of the Bannock, Coeur d’ Alene, Kalispel, Kutenai, Nez Perce, Northern Paiute, and Shoshone Indians. These were primarily Plains Indians that depended on the buffalo, others on fish. There was some farming. Most of these tribes were influenced greatly by the horse and buffalo. The Comanche Indians brought the horse to them from the south. American Indian Tribes of Idaho was written to acquaint the people with these Indians, their ways and culture.
