Details:
Wasteline was started about one year ago by (the lead singer and guitarist) David Williamson. He had been in bands before but none too serious. Having friends that are fellow musicians it was easy for David to get people with talent. Daniel Helmes was one of davids best friends at the time and had just bought a bass guitar. Justin Heuninck (another best friend) had a drumset for a while the he never really played seriously. Things didn't start very fast. Since Justin had a nice singing voice David made him try to learn bass and had Daniel take the drumset home with him. Both Justin and Daniel learned quickly but the passion for the instruments they were playing was not strong. And so they switched back. A few weeks later David presented a few songs to the rest of the band and things got a bit more serious. Equipment was bought and the playing got better. Dave's songs seemed like they had what it takes, so they did what any band starting out would do. They played at a 13 year old girl's birthday party. Embarrassing as it may seem, it was a good learning experience for all of them. Though they had played live many times in the high school band, this type of performance was much more personal and rewarding because of the origional music, and fewer performers. After that the band decided to record a CD. They set a date in the summer and practiced their asses off. The CD will be released independently by Wasteline in September 2005 and is called "Born Naked".
