Re-defining the Christmas Season with SOUL!!!

Vancouver, BC (December 2nd, 2005) -Warren Flandez, one of Canada's most distinctive voices is adding a fresh twist to this Holiday Season with a Christmas CD entitled "A Soul Christmas". This independent release features one original composition and four traditional carols with partial proceeds benefiting the Canadian Red Cross.

"A Soul Christmas" emerges from a collaboration with one of Canada's hottest producers Mike Southworth and was recorded at Creativ Recording Studios with a bevy of Vancouver's finest musicians. This record offers sweet Christmas classics infused with an eclectic style inspired by the timeless sounds of "live off the floor" Motown, the uplifting tones of soul gospel, and the grit of contemporary Hip Hop. From a soulful rendition of "Silent Night" to the stirring urban-gospel favorite "Go Tell it On the Mountain", reverent yuletide melodies comprise the heart and soul of this disc.

Born in Yellowknife and now based in Vancouver, singer, songwriter, musician and producer Warren Flandez can be distinguished by his rich, caramel smooth tone and vivid falsetto reminiscent of the late Donny Hathaway .

Discovered and developed at an early age by legendary vocal coach Checo Tohomaso, former Motown Back-Up Singer and Keyboardist for Marvin Gaye, Lionel Ritchie, and the Commodores, Warren grew up in the church singing in Vancouver's eminent VOC Soul Gospel Choir.

Warren has now taken his craft to the next level by having just completed a full length album under iS Inc. due for release early next year. The record caught the attention of three time Grammy winner Warren Riker (The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Santana) who agreed to personally invest in the project. Warren has also been actively involved with various humanitarian organizations such as the Canadian Students for Darfur and the Canadian Red Cross.
