"PAIN IS A TRANSFORMATIVE FORCE."

Mrs.Pain, (Kelley Cosgrove), is a cross-genre multi-instrumental self-produced musician and multi-media artist. Her style is hard to pin down, but her work has been compared at times to Ani DeFranco, Fiona Apple, Sneaker Pimps, and Grouper. Her cleverly woven lyrics focus on a combination of science-fiction-horror and real-life social commentary, and the accompanying instrumental music ranges from psychedelic rocknroll to ambient a cappella electronica, with hints of trip hop, jazz, folk, and R&B.

A wealth of media created for/by Mrs.Pain can be found on the pages of this website, as well as on Youtube, Myspace, and Blogger (linked at the bottom of the page). Media includes hours of live performance footage, self produced animated music videos, musical improvisations on acoustic guitar, written and spoken poetry, and fiction.
