Trust is an artist whoâs music is founded in life experiences and observations. Bouts with the law and incarceration, to homelessness to intellectual and emotional growth, itâs all here. Trust has successfully turned his South Central Los Angeles life occurances into a plethora of provocative stories and anecdotes â disturbing and at the same time insightful. The life of a well seasoned young man who has already become a veteran of street life at age 23. This evidenced in âPolluted by Tru Evilâ where he let his emotions run loose, free-styling his thoughts of being born into an unhealthy existence and how he now questions that existence and past deeds, asking âWhat if I was innocent again?â
The edgy, but well dressed, well spoken Trust started writing at the young age of 12, inspired by the turbulent but thought provoking lyrics of âTupac Shakurâ and âAbove The Law.â Comments Trust, âthese lyrics spoke to me and got me through hard times, I felt like someone else knew my struggles.â âIf someone else could struggle like me and make it, so could I.â A pen and paper became his panacea. For years, he lyrically battled people on street corners, local stages and neighborhood parties before ever walking into a studio. He wanted to make sure that what he had to offer was picture perfect and a perfectionist he is. Trust is boastful about his ability and says that âin front of a mic is where I am supposed to be,â however, when asked to describe the flavor he brings to the rap game, he explains, âI would appreciate it if we could just let the listeners come to their own conclusion, one manâs perception isnât everyoneâs reality.â
