When God gave the gift of musical expression for the first time, do you suppose that He knew the power that it would have both for good and for evil in His world as He created it? Do you suppose that at the outset of the Creation that He already knew what would transpire and how it needed to be played out so that the ultimate outcome would be His perfect bride? In this world of His it seems to me that a lot of what goes on in life adheres to certain rhythms and cycles inherently musical in nature. I like to call it âThe Rhythm of Lifeâ. We walk in rhythm, we run in rhythm, we march in rhythm, we breathe in rhythm, and even our hearts beat in rhythm. When God gave us life, he breathed this rhythm into each one of us and from that point on we begin to walk a road that can be in harmony with all of His creation and eventually lead us to that one glorious moment when we will all come into unison with His heart, or not! That is our choice. The idea behind âThe Gardenâ is that God created everything to work together for the sole purpose of transforming us into the Bride of Christ. Every piece of the puzzle being just as necessary as the other, Adam, Eve, The serpent, the apple, the separation, the dying, the virgin birth, the obedience, the sacrifice, the love, the resurrection, the holy spirit and ultimately, the return. All of which can be expressed through the gift of music. That which paints a picture that needs no spoken word but relies upon the Spirit of the Living God to render itâs meaning. You see, words can be confusing, language can create barriers, an idea can be presented with our own self-seeking evil or good intentions, and therefore surrendering itâs impartiality. Music puts no words in your mouth or ideas in your head but instead; it can clear your mind to receive a fuller understanding of what may already be present. An underlying revelation that comes from the peaceful place created in each one of us from the beginning. A place where that still small voice can finally be heard. This is the purpose of âThe Gardenâ.
