Tameka Goodman has been singing since age 4. Born and raised in Shreveport LA, She has established herself as the most well know performer in North Louisiana. For years she has opened for regional concert and singing background for many stars but her debut release gave the area what the always desired a special peace of herself. The leading single âTalk No Moreâ describe a women interest in her man life but he fails to talk to her about whatâs going on in his mine. âMany relationships fall apart because of poor communication. This song simply suggests if you donât have time to talk to me, we donât need to be in this relationship,â she says. A song that many women can easily understand has lifted the age level of radio call-ins and request.
Goodman, in her early 30, has never felt age matters when it comes to soul music. âI not trying to compete with the teen artist Iâm and adult and I make music for adults in relationships,â she says. However sheâs seen a huge number of teen supporting her in concerts and events. âItâs beautiful to be understood and accepted by all people and all ages. I think mature music lovers can relate to with honesty. I am honest in my delivery and people respect that,â she says.
Already sheâs being compared to Jill Scott, Angie Stone, Betty Wright, and Chaka Khan.â âIt is great to be compared to great artist but people create categories. All of those artists are totally different and they all have made amazing contributions to the music industry. I just hope to make my impact in the music industry just as they have,â se sayâs. Tameka has shared the stage with Frankie Beverley & Maze, Faith Evans, Gerald Levert, Kc & JoJo, Tyrese, Lyfe Jennings, Bruce Bruce, Steve Harvey, Lakeside, blues artist Shirley Brown, Sir Charles Jones, Erykah Badu and Ricky Smiley to name a few. She has been highlighted in several casinos and hundreds of colleges and major civic festivals and events.
