He has found a way to take his voice/content/flow and blend it ever so nicely with the beat to make a visual soundscape. The beats on this album come from all over the map - Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia and NY â this makes it feel urban yet universal. Seattle singer Ms. Karter blesses three tracks with soulful delivery and passion â her performance on Pro and Con is nothing short of amazingâ¦it sounds like a sample but it is really her! Longtime friend and former rhyme partner Kontinuwis matches wits and throws rhymes back and forth with Tulsi on the memorable track âTravel Back.â The album hits with Confidenceâs boom bap beats on âSharpest Bladeâ and âHeadcrackâ while shifting to Omidâs subtle smoothness on âLove Makes a Shadowâ and âThe Breeze.â While "Do Something," produced by Elusive, comes off as a high-energy anthem. Dope stuff for all listeners. 14 Tracks of real raw hip hop music.
Tulsi is a Seattle-based emcee with over a decade plus of rhyming under his belt. Originally from Spokane, he bounced down to Venice Beach but has been up in Seattle since 02â. This is his first release and the first overall release from his new record label Soul On Wax. Soul on Wax is steady on the incline with many more projects on the horizon. The label is putting out an EP on wax for a cat called âDaydream Johnny,â the EP is entitled âStock Footage,â in October 06â. Keep your eye out for future Tulsi projects!
