The.Story.Of formed in the beautiful hills of Athens, Ohio in 2002 and created their unique brand of progressive and electronic infused art-rock. The quintet performed all over the Midwest in support of their first two albums: Ergots of Rye (2002) and Trust in Amanita (2003). They have recently relocated to Austin, Texas where they finished up the mixing of their third release: Foothill Highway Appalachian Road (2005).
What they sound like:
Their Music can be described as energetic and epic space-rock; with souring melodies, unique song structures, creative use of electronics and distorted guitars, and yet boasts an accessible quality about it. They have been compared to: Flaming Lips, New Order, Mercury Rev, Old David Bowie, Yes, Muse, Sunny Day Real Estate and Radiohead.
