Details:
Television Pickup is a band on the verge of jazz, electronica, indie rock and film music. The band has existed since the autumn of 2003 and has since then touched peoples' hearts in both Sweden and Denmark.

The music, written by Katrine Amsler, is characterized by simple but spellbinding melodies, sketchy minimalism and hardcore riffs. These elements, combined with a large amount of musical freedom, is leading the band to the most unexpected places: from subtle noise escapades to sadness in Stetson hat.

In February 2006 Television Pickup took the train to Copenhagen to record their debut album, after three years of playing live. The result is now released on the new-born label BoogiePost Recordings, that in a first stage is focusing on own releases of experimental and improvised music.

The record is a collage of sharply shifting moods and soundscapes, bound together by collective improvisation and an intense joy of discovery. Television Pickup is serving a musical Jambalaya turning genres upside down: from the ghostly slow fox Large Screen Image of a Pianoplayer, via the doomy blues Dogger Banke, to the ether soaked BoogiePost. The end titles music - TV Peace Please - leaves the listener in an electric vacuum, hoping for an early sequel.
