Terri Carroll is not new to the gospel music industry. Her debut project released on CGI Records on April 7 1998 entitled, "Terri Carroll", earned her two Stellar Award nominations in 1999. The demise of that record label in 2000, however, left Terri reeling with the dilemma of what to do next. Says Terri, "I was out of the loop. Suddenly all of the people who "loved my music so much", were no longer returning calls. I was at an impasse." Terri soon realized what a huge undertaking reclaiming her career would be, the biggest setbacks being financial. "I knew that the Lord had charged me with doing His work in this earth and that He would direct me on how to do just that. There were innumerable attacks from the enemy and many difficult challenges, but the Lord has been Jehovah Nissi through it all. He is my victory!
"Holding Out 4 God", is the culmanation of much blood, sweat, and tears for Terri Carroll. "I refer to this project as 'The Atlanta Sessions', because it is a limited edition collection of songs that were birthed as a result of allowing God to use me right where I was. There is no glitzy packaging or high end production tricks, because we worked with what we had. It's just like when God gave Moses that staff and told him that he had EVERYTHING he needed at the time to accomplish his assignment. Now Moses had some concerns, and so did we, but what we did know, just like Moses, is that we HAD to walk by faith and not by sight. If God says it's so, then it's so. He's made all things possible, even without the major label budget. This is not a Hollywood Religion. It's just raw music ministry, approved by God. And that's all the go ahead I need!"
Terri Carroll is back with a bold, invigorating splash of cutting-edge urban, r&b, hip-hop, and jazz mixture. The lyrics come straight from scripture as she draws on day to day life struggles to belt out heart felt melodies, allowing everyone to feel, taste and see exactly what she's singing about. While Terri Carroll pulled on heart strings and kicked off praise parties with her first album release, new material like"Holding Out 4 God" and "The Master" will surely give gospel listeners even more to praise God about!
