Chill, Trip Hop, and Electronica meet 21st century Nujazz in the new release from Zolace, âIn The Shadeâ. The band is comprised of 3 composer/producers - international jazz saxophone and multi-reed legend Chico Freeman, U.K. producer/keyboardist Jan Pulsford, and U.S. producer/percussionist Robert Bond. Their travels around the globe and associations with artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Cyndi Lauper, Peter Gabriel, The Thompson Twins, 3kStatic, Hitoe, and the London Symphony Orchestra have blended into the latest direction in Nujazz. In the tradition of artists such as Miles Davis and Weather Report, Zolace is in search of a new palette of musical sounds via electronic programming and electro-acoustic live performance.
