If Woody Guthrie or Pete Seeger were reincarnated as a guitar slinging, singing, atheist Jewish woman... these might be their songs. Instead, they are written by Lois Brownsey Heckman. In the tradition of left-wing political protest music, with a large dose of humor and sarcasm, The Stinkin' Pinkos cover a wide range of issues, from gay rights, to corporate greed, Fox news, the Tea party, religion, and oil and gas drilling, in a variety of cool styles.

Lois is the singer/songwriter and she plays guitar and bass, along with partner Kent Heckman on guitars, six-string (jerry Jones) bass guitar and Supro lap steel. Joining them on the recording are drummer/percussionist Sherrie Maricle and bassist Jennifer Leitham, and some other guests, including the Angry Mob Choir. Together the musicians bring years of professionalism to a new project.

The instrumentation and wacky songs give the Pinkos a unique, non-stinky sound. They are sure to entertain, especially if you are a pinko, too.

With good natured sarcasm, and occasional poignancy. Highly entertaining for liberals everywhere.
