R.C. Miller Jr. was born to R.C. Sr. and Clydena Miller in the beautiful city of West Palm Beach, FL. R.C. Jr. was baptized at an early age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he dedicated his life to the Lord, under the leadership of Rev. William M. Hall Jr. and co-pastor, Reverend R. W. Pittman. Prior to completing high school and growing up in a family of educators, R.C. Jr. was encouraged to continue his education after high school. This was a dream he always dreamed of. After all, thatâs what his family demanded him to do! Just weeks, before he began to attend Bethune-Cookman College, tragedy struck the Miller family. R.C. Jr. was hospitalized with 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns over his entire face. His family was saddened by this accident. With his faith in God, he knew everything would be alright. He developed a close relationship with God. He believed that God was on his side. He didnât bring him this far to leave him. His level of faith in God had risen. He graduated from Bethune Cookman College and became a teacher in the Palm Beach County School system for thirty-one years where he met his loving wife Mary D. Miller of thirty years and fathered their children whom adore him dearly.
As a teacher by day and an R and B artist by night, he was managed by George Kerr, whom produced known R.B. artist as Linda Jones, The Moments, The OJâs and The Excorts.
As he sat home alone on a Sunday morning, he had a conversation with the Lord. He said to the Lord, âwhatever you want me to do, Iâll do itâ. Little did he know, the Lord was about to give him his gift of music back. He didnât know that he was to sing for the Lord. He tried to produce songs for two other singers. They both refused his offer. It was then he realized that the Lord wanted him to sing his songs of praises. His family and friends encouraged him to sing the songs himself. He followed the voice of the Lord, and the rest is history.
He first recorded, âLiving for Christâ. This song really inspired him. It gave him the courage and the ability to persevere. From there, he went on to record; âJesus, Heâs The Reason for the Seasonâ. This song was recorded one week before Christmas in 2005. A dear friend, the late Sanford Ward encouraged him to release the single in spite of the amount of time left for the holiday season. He gives thanks to God for Brother Sanford Ward.
With his new hit single, âSHOW ME THE WAYâ heâs on his way to give praise and uplift the people all over the world. He has been blessed to grace our radio listeners with a song ministry on WJFP 107.1 radio station every Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. After all, God has given him a second chance to do what he loves most. However, this time, heâs doing it in the name of the LORD!
