Over the past four installments of this series, we've featured International remix artists from Germany, Brazil, Italy and Belgium. Now, Synthphony Records is proud to add Sweden's own Chinese Theatre to our community of talent in this latest volume. Krister Pettersson's project injects that feel-good, bubbly, early 80's analogue synth euphoria (see Depeche Mode's 'Speak and Spell' and Yazoo's 'Upstairs at Eric's' for reference) into today's modern electropop scene. Proudly Swedish, Krister enlisted the cooperation of several fellow countrymen including Colony 5, Hype, Universal Poplab, Basswood Dollies, This Fish Needs a Bike and Julian Brandt feat. Johan Kinde. Determined to make his album world-class, he requested a track from his boyhood idols, another cult synth act from the 80s, The Twins. Combining his love of the "old" with the newer breed of electronic acts like Celluloide, A New January, Estatuas de Sol, Nun, Ming & Ping and Syrian, Krister took on the project with zeal and charisma.
